In 1985, Eric became a founder member of 'The Portobello Ceilidh Band'. In the nineties, he called dances with some of Scotland's prominent dance bands and became known as 'Scotland's top caller'. He went on to form 'The Strathearn Ceilidh Band' and later 'Stepping out', before joining this band playing lively Scottish ceilidh music.
Eric performs abroad and has regularly toured Denmark with various artistes and as a soloist. His ability to provide dance music and songs has made him popular with overseas Caledonian and St. Andrew's Societies.
Their fee for 2008, which includes public liability insurance, all electrical equipment passing PAT, travel costs to Edinburgh, arrangement fee and relevant VAT, is £395.00. This fee is based on a maximum 4 hour period, finishing by 12 midnight.
